Land Acknowledgement

The Flare Productions acknowledges the traditional First Nations land we create on is the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. Toronto is apart of Treaty 13 with the Mississauga of the Credit First Nations People.

In addition to a land acknowledgment, The Flare would like to acknowledge the privilege we have to be able to create theatre and art in Canada, when so many have lost their voices due to colonization, the destruction of community and racism from our government and monarchy. Words are not enough anymore. We must take action. We ask you to please take this opportunity to research more you can do to support Canadian First Nations, who have lost their home to colonization, and other communities across Canada who are being hurt, diminished and destroyed. We are lucky to be in the position we are, and will continue to do our part privately to support our communities as best we can.

Please donate to the Indian Residential School Survivor Support Society here.

Who we are

The Flare Productions, founded September 19th, 2020, is a Toronto based female created and female, femme & queer led theatre organization dedicated to creating space for and celebrating the works and voices of Female identifying artists, LGBTQIA+ artists and unrepresented artists in all mediums of the entertainment industry.

We strive to tell unheard stories and create an open, safe and welcoming space, free from judgment and restraint. We approach all projects with a fearless honesty and imperishable fierceness for ambition and change. We are an intensely burning light for artists to create anything that may set a flare off in their hearts.

The Flare has been awarded a #SafeTravels Stamp by The World Travel & Tourism Council and Tourism Industry of Ontario Association for adopting health and hygiene global standardized protocols.
